  1. IMPORT FACILITIES

  4. THE EMULATOR contains special commands to allow existing files to be
  5. transferred from a BBC with DFS by means of a serial cable.  
  6.  
  7. PLEASE NOTE that this is intended to allow you to transfer your own
  8. files and public domain software; using it to transfer commercial software 
  9. is a breach of a licensing agreement - in exactly the same way as making 
  10. unauthorized copies by any other mechanism.

  12. In order to transfer files to which you are legitimately entitled, you
  13. will need a serial cable to run between the BBC's RS423 port and the 
  14. Amiga's RS232 port.

  16. Cables can be made using the following information:
  17.  
  18. A standard "null-modem" cable (ie one in which data in and out are
  19. crossed, NOT a "modem" cable where they go straight through) will work.

  21.     BBC data in     pin A    to    Amiga TXD    pin 2
  22.     BBC data out     pin B    to    Amiga RXD    pin 3
  23.     BBC 0V      pin C    to    Amiga system 0V pin 7

  25. Connect    BBC pin D to BBC pin E  ( CTS to RTS ).
